For instance, the story of Kiggell visiting the front and being surprised at the mud is almost certainly apocryphal (see Neilland's book The Generals for a discussion of much of this).
Great series though, I wish there were British, French and German equivalents!
This series does nothing for my hatred of the German (of WW1) but overwhelmingly solidifies my absolute hatred and disgust for General Haig and his tea sipping asswipes.
@BillRun101 Not a TV series but the Charley's War comics/graphic novels are pretty good.
