Fun Drive. LaFever Road was named after my Grandfather. I lived in Cordova 1939 to 1942. My Uncle Raymond LaFever fished there until he died in about 1999.
I came back for a visit in 2003. Thanks for allowing me to see it in the snow. Not sorry we left, or I too would have been a fisherman, a hard life.

In this video, I was driving a 1984 half ton Dodge Pickup with four wheel drive.

i have two questions. 1. are pickup trucks in 2wd okay to drive in that much snow on the ground or on ice with the proper tires? 2. were you driving in 4wd, and if you were how fast can you go in 4wd?

Yes you can drive in 2wd in that snow, just take things slower and more carefully. A good heavy lugged mud and snow tire makes things easier, but 4wd is the preferred method. I was mostly in 2wd except when I got to the intersection. You can go up to freeway speed in 4wd in snowy conditions, but you can not stop any faster than 2wd.
