Aerial tour of Tralee town, County Kerry, Ireland (home of the Rose of Tralee International Festival). Recorded in August 1990. Shows some historic footage of the town and environs before major developments changed the face of the county capital forever.
Note the absence of traffic lights, major roundabouts and multi-storey carparks, as well as the Fels Point area of the town and the Blennerville Road, where the Carlton Hotel, Omniplex, Aqua Dome, Marina Apartments and Tralee Bay Wetlands Park are now situated.
Video recorded using a Sony CCD-F340E Video 8 analogue camcorder. (c) TC 2011

Just as horrible, dirty and depressed then as it is now. The meanest town in Ireland. Famous only for the degrading spectacle of parading women in public for the benefit of ogling television viewers and the advertising revenues of a “national’ television broadcaster. The self-serving hypocrisy that the organizers use to rationalize this is breathtaking in its arrogance and an utterly depressing representation of what Ireland has become.

No Brandon, the canal is different, parking in the square! I'd love to see images from before they moved all the rivers underneath the town.
