I think you may have missed the subtle irony and humour of mark's comments. He is making light of his own work to create a discourse. By doing this he broadens and abstracts the spectrum of meaning associated with the work. His comments are a parody of those who tend to mistake seriousness for intelligence. I fear you may have fallen prey to that tendency yourself. Humour is a powerful weapon in culture and in art. It was certainly powerful enough to illicit your knee-jerk reaction, was it not?
