Episode 3 of my videos sharing my love of the vinyl record.

This video shows my Okki Nokki record cleaning machine cleaning a copy of ABBA's Super Trouper album that has been sitting in a box for the past 15 years.

I use Okki Nokki's own fluid plus isopropyl alcohol and de-ionised water which I have found gives the best results.

I throughly recommend the Okki Nokki if you are serious about getting your records deep cleaned and, once done, as long as you look after your records they shouldn't need cleaning again.

Of course, the machine can only clean the dust, grease and crud out, it can't repair a scratched record however although a minor scratch will give an audible 'tick' the music really does shine through.

I chose the ABBA track in honour of MarkPMus as his channel gave me the drive to start collecting again and to create these episodes. Check him out and subscribe!

  • Hiya,

I use 1 part isopropyl alcohol to 4 parts de-ionised water with a dash of kodak wetting agent (it helps with the final drying).

You can get the syinge from a chemist (boots in the UK) for a couple of pounds.

Good luck with the Okki Nikki - it really does make a difference.

  • Hi,

There are a number of companies that will sell you one, go to Okki Nokki's website for a list.

This would work with 78s and acetates however you could only clean with pure water (and very little of that) as record cleaning fluid with alcohol woul disolve shelac and acetate.

  • @RICKROLLBLENDER acetates, probably not. I wouldn't apply the fluid to any of my dubplates. They often play a little better when sprayed with a little distilled water.

  • Thanks for posting this video. I'm getting ready to buy an Okki Nokki record cleaner. I would like to know what are the measurements for each of the fluids (Okki Nokki cleaning fluid, isopropyl alcohol and de-ionised water) in your cleaning solution? Also where can I buy a syringe like yours? Thanks

  • any idea where I can buy one? Does it work on 78s and acetate discs?

  • ile kosztuje taka maszyna?

  • Do you know anything about cleaning an I an AEOLIAN COMPANY 1916 record that I would also like to upload, but more so, learn how to properly clean it. I am in need of someone to guide me in this matter. I look forward to your response.

  • I'm debating between the Okki Nokki and the VPI model. It was very helpful to see the O-N in action. Thanks.

  • Great cleaner i have been considering one for my collection. Check out my channel i have a few video about records and jukeboxes.

  • Great record!
