I love blue roans, he's stunning.

@GotNoMonies You do know there are several 'types' of quarter horses, right? Racing, halter, stock, etc, each have slightly different confirmations.

The horse is just listening ("pinned ears") to the rider, it looks to me.

@horsearcherlady i dont know where in that you see a 'happy' horse. all i see is a horse with a huge shanked bit on, constantly chewing on the bit with pinned ears and that 'i'd rather be anywhere than here' look. he's beautiful but i'm fairly sure he isnt happy.

@GotNoMonies yes it does, dont you see its huge butt and its head DUH
-
It looks so cool but may be uncofortable to sit on... hmmmmm.

Excellent showmanship; Beautiful horse, great trainer and rider.

looks like a lusitano X QH. still gorgeous horse none the less. QH's are amazing, one of my favorite breeds.
Doesn't look like a fullblood QH to me, but gorgeous horse none the less.

Its all perspective. Just because the horse is doing passage, does not mean he is a 'dressage' horse and shouldn't be judged by those standards. Modern dressage doesn't 'own' high school work. He is a gorgeous horse that looks happy in his work, and has obvious talent for piaffe/passage. Some may call him a 'trick horse', but see the beauty and happiness before you get judgemental. Very nice horse, wish he was mine. I've been looking for a QH with good dressage movement.
