A few years ago a multiple time BJJ World Champion and ADCC Champion who I will not name went to spar with Rickson just after winning Worlds. Rickson tapped him a number of times including a choke from Side Control from body pressure alone.

Marcelo is incredible but no way he 'would have tooled' Rickson. I'm not so sure Marcelo would win still today.

  • @fresh2def973 Well Royler is one of the best in the world was undeafeted for many years and rickson just treated him like a blue belt....Rickson is top 3 in the world thats for sure ...and i train @ Wilshire as well....and RICKSON is a damn Zen Master dont ever get that twisted he only goes 40 % most of the time !!

  • rickson kardesinin agzina sicarken

  • I've trained at his school on Wilshire and have seen both him and Kron roll. It's easy to be enamored by Rickson's presence alone, but to be quite frank, I don't think Rickson is the best BJJ artist of all time. I watch Marcelo Garcia and am astonished by his technical ability and believe him to be the best P4P. In my opinion, Roger is better than Rickson was in his prime and the best BJJ artist the Gracie family has produced; however, Kron could potentially surpass Roger P4P.

  • @agentmma There are too many "legendary" tales out there and your story doesn't help its case. Now, I believe Rickson is the best Gracie when it comes to BJJ, and I doubt Marcelo would easily beat Rickson, but your story honestly doesn't sound credible (but it can be believable). I'm not trying to sound hostile, but really.

  • @agentmma Name him, ive heard this somewhere also but Marcelo is tooling everyone, eddie bravo said they had a mega seminar at ATT and he tooled everyone there including top guys brought in for the seminar

  • @Donowaman i bet you don't grapple much do you? let me let you in on a secret, most forms of grapple arts are pretty much the same, sambo, judo, bjj, catch, ect...... The diff. comes from the philosophy, look at Eric Paulson, leg lock master extortioner and also catch wrestler coach, got his start in bjj, just because you watch a few fights don't assume you know everything about grappling, Ever heard of Ralek Gracie btw? Go to a naga tournament, there are always representatives from all these

  • @agentmma If you honestly think Takada did ANYTHING to Sakuraba in training, you're delusional. Takada was less of a trainer/fighter and more of a mascot. Pure pro wrestler with very little fighting/grappling skill.

It'd be like saying 50 Cent KO's Floyd Mayweather in play sparring.

  • @sharkfinnigan BJJ and Catch Wrestling techniques are not the same. If you watch Sakuraba, Barnett, Tamura,Daisuke Nakamura, Funaki, Kitaoka, etc... you can see a clear difference between them and your classic BJJ players. This is especially the case with a younger/prime Sakuraba before he went to Chute Boxe. Go watch his early fights, even against the Gracies, and tell me his style resembles BJJ.

  • @sharkfinnigan No, it's not all BJJ, JJJ, and Judo. Sakuraba is a Catch Wrestler with a long freestyle wrestling career. He placed top 5 in Japan when he wrestled as an amateur in college. It's quite obvious that his main style is a form of wrestling, not BJJ. Sure, now he's had BJJ training. But for most of his career? He was a pure wrestler with Pro-Wrestling influence.

Ralek destroyed him? Ralek beat a 41 year old man who is so broken down he can barely walk. Hardly something to brag about.

  • @Freestyleartclub catch wrestling = bjj, thats what im trying to say, its not like GR or freestyle, all the techniques for catch are in bjj and likewise lol, he beat them because he was better at what he did not because his style was suppiror becuase it was essentially the same thing, yeah sakuraba was awesome i agree, i was more of a hickson fan myself bet you guessed lol
