Hunter Original Ceiling Fan

Hunter Original 52" ceiling fan in white, installed with 5 blades. The blades and blade arms are from a Summer Breeze, as two of the original brackets are bent and I don't have any blades for it. The canopy was supplied by me, as it didn't come with one. It came on this long downrod, and it was very difficult to get off, but I did eventually get it off.

I've been wondering this for a while... why is there ONE vent that is short and wide rather than being the normal shape? Does it serve a functional purpose?

We've wondered about the mysterious "round vent" for some time. I don't remember if Brian Hicks ever figured it out or not, but I certainly don't know if there's a purpose for it.

During which time period would you say it was most common?

I think the 90's more than anything, perhaps the last couple years of the 80's. I think it really came into play when they went to 4/5 blades.

I'm Sure It Would Be A Bit Faster With 4 Blades, But Still Runs Well With 5

Lol, it's already running faster with 5 Summer Breeze blades than it would with 4 Original blades, the Summer Breeze blades are so much lighter.

My middle school has about 50 of these with 4 blades and brown finish (from the 1960's). There are about 3-4 in each classroom, including about 1-2 in the smaller rooms like closets. Although the blades are horribly bent and they wobble VERY bad.

No, lol. I only have the two Originals, and I'm looking for more, and I have Casas and am looking for more. =) I'll let you know if I want to sell anything like this in about year 2040. XD
