  • @icfireplace - You're absolutely right about WW and that old Top Gear was better.

New Top Gear is totally dumbed down and should be renamed 'The Clarkson and Two Cronies Show'.

  • William Woollard. Knock the spots off Jeremy I Am Speed Clarkson any day. Mike S.

  • The new corners at Silverstone and a lot of the other circuits was after Senna and Ratzenberg were killed the previous year, the idea was to try and slow down the F1 cars a bit as they were starting to get too fast.

  • little did big willie know this track would become one of the most tedious f1 tracks ever next to the hungaroring

  • The old Top Gears, sadly, went from six million viewers to three million after Clarkson left in 1999. I enjoyed these old-format ones and, after all, the BBC has to educate the public as part of its constitution. Top Gear used to fulfil that aim. (Arguably it still does, though to a far lesser extent.)

  • Sadly this format wasn't popular so it got axed. I thought he was good though: always so informative; for those of us who were "hard core". Sadly informative TV is largely a thing of the past. Anyone know what he's doing now?
