At Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy, staff and parents joined preschool through 8th grade students in a festive Yom Ha'atzmaut program on Tuesday, May 10th, which included an annual parade, the release of blue and white balloons, and Israeli dancing. The morning began with prayers, and the middle school students joined Congregation Beth Jacob to add to the festive nature of the prayers of the day.
The Elementary School took part in programming using the five senses to experience and learn about Israel. The Middle School traveled to the Brandeis-Bardin Institute campus in Simi Valley, where they took part in mock IDF army training, participated in a kumzitz, and enjoyed a barbeque.
