Maj. Paul "Max" Moga and the F-22 Raptor dazzled the crowd at NAS Oceana with noise, vapor and speed. This video is from Sunday, just after a short downpour. There was just enough moisture still in the air to make this the most graphic display of how the Raptor's aerodynamics really work.
Great great shots...amazing! Very impressed

@kingneptune117 The F-14 was to be retired in 2008, but some are still used. Even though it is 40 years old it is a remarkable aircraft. The F-16 is slated to be replaced for the US, but other countries are still buying them.

F-14 is retired. If anything, the F-16 is a great tool. The new E/F models (block 60) are extremely efficient. We could order many of these. The viper has proven itself.

USA is already spending 700 billion on their military some billions more wouldn't make a difference.

well our jets were only made to take like 3000 (might be wrong) hrs. the most modern we have now is blk 50/52s (50s being the most capable due to the GEs)......plus i'm at a training base, idk how many hours the blk 40s and blk 50s coming from germany have when i get to korea this summer.

@taans1 7000 hrs? holy shit... our block 8 (the equivalent of such at least) alpha f-18s are comin up on nearly 12000 hrs. Limiting these high g birds to a small number is a mistake.

@taans1 Try again... NOT BUSH!

not to mention the stresses of all the flight hours on these jets, our blk 25s are reaching 7000 hrs already.

@lander4545 If you look at the history of the USA military you will find that a reduction in a project is still way more than other countries. Check out all the Iraq and Afgan videos, you will see more F-14's than any other air craft.
