  • this dance is truly amazing,

please dont let the garifuna culture die....

  • i remember do this when i was little in punta gorda we did it at the parachal at saint peter school we call it joncunu

  • well i'm actually looking for all thier songs from back in 1980's, "ital food" for example

  • I will be happy to help,it is for me important to know what is that you're looking for. For example: Punta, parranda, merengue-punta...just for hint I see a lots of garifuna music and sound on Garitv. let me know ....

  • i'm also interested in finding out what happend to the original turtle shell band, and the sound city band, i cannot seem to find there songs anywhere and i've looked every where.can u please help me.

  • the first guy is amazing, who is he. Wow I have never seen anyone dance like that. My respects to you boy

  • these guys are good whish it was more longer ...I used to do this ...I started at six years old and still going lol garifuna baby warin in da building

  • This is a very sacred dance, is in the same category of dugu, chugu, arumajani, abeimajani, and coropatia... I can't answer it through this mean. Requires me the proper spiritual permission to satisfy your question...If you know a close garifuna he or she might talk to you..good luck friend

  • As a garifuna,I won't dare to talk on behalf of everybody, but it is fare to say: Wanaragua is a garifuna celebration of survival and triumph over the odds of British invasion in Yurumei in the 1700's. We offer our dance to the world to celebrate with us. Better explanation may be given by another intelligent garifuna. I hope that will help for now.

  • so what is the "howtaman" represent you know when the man dress as a woman with big butt and horn and chase people down the street.

  • i taught this dance represents the chrismas season.

  • the guys are amazing specially the first one

  • I LOVE THIS TYPE OF MUSIC. #1

  • This is not joncanu. It's Wanaragua. Allow me to explain. Wanaragua is the Warriors Dance. In Yurumei, (St. Vincent island in the Caribbean) Garifuna warriors dressed as women to confuse and fight the enemies of the time. Wanaragua dancers are dressed as women. Instead of the dancer following the drum, the drum follows the dancer. As you can see with the first dancer, at one point he is not satisfied with the drummer and for a moment stops dancing...

  • wow this is what i'm talking about

  • where was this?

  • que vive garifuna

  • johnkunu!
