MST3K - Favorite Moments - Escape 2000

In episode 705 we see what happens when urban renewal is taken just a little too far. In Escape 2000 (or Escape from the Bronx) a group of misfits fight a big developing company which is trying to force them to leave their homes.
Now, how exactly fighting to STAY in the Bronx could lead to the title ESCAPE 2000 - or the original "Escape from the Bronx" - is anyones guess.
Escape and/or leaving by fighting to stay where you are...?

Look out for Nosferatu (aka Rat-Woman), The Village People, Toblerone, an asthmatic nazi, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, bob-sleigh teams, elimination of parrots, Thrash (a reject from Zombie Nightmare?), Toblerone laughs, George Hamilton, fascist Italians, Ricky Ricardo Tourette syndrome, Alfred Hitchcock's rope, Henry Silva (for all your Silva needs), sub-contracting of heroes, trampoline accidents, a long face, weird physics, and the final battle between vaguely evil and somewhat ambiguous.

What does MST stand for? I thought they were the same guys as Rifftrax.

My guess would be because of copyrights and the fact that the formats are different (ie. the characters of MST are not used). They also did The Film Crew. Really funny as well.

Sightings was cool, miss that and MST3k. TOHO Studios say no-no to any mocking of Godzilla but there is an all Gamera boxed set of MST3k episodes out there, never laughed so hard at bad monster movies!

And to think when I was younger I'd look forward to mornings during summer vacation either watching "Sightings" or MST3K. That and the usual Labor Day Godzilla film marathon...oh what charmingly naive times those were...

Well, the SlyFly Channel is appealing to other viewers now and push the sci-fi stuff to the edges to show stuff that will, hopefully, pull in more revenue but that is highly debatable. I think if they say yes to the new BSG: Blood & Chrome series, they will have a major up-swing in viewership. I wish they'd show Dr.Who and Torchwood but sadly, that's a no-no on SlyFly! Perry Rohdan? NOPE! Real sci-fi movies? NOPE! So, it is what it is these days.
