@BeeABaw usually you dont hear it on higher end luxury cars because they put some sound-deafening devices around the engine to greatly reduce high frequency engine noise

if you go to your driver information center and press either the far left button or the one next to it (i have an 06 impala SS there is a slight difference between yours and mine) you will come to numerous settings. if u flip through it youll eventually come to chime volume. by using the select button in the middle u should be able to lower or turn off the volume. hope it helps and enjoy the new car!
