In a speech on the Senate Floor, Senator Bob Bennett (R-Utah) called on Congress to slow down the health care reform debate, start over and do it right. Bennett says an arbitrary deadline must not be set in order to do the job right. Also in the speech, Bennett opposed the Baucus Bill that came out of the Senate Finance Committee.
Very demagogic speech. You know, sir (and the clerk that's reading this) that the only way for the President to get something done against you attacking him is to do it fast. It is easy, at the end of the negociations to say: "We don't like the result, let's slow down, start over and get it right". That's not how democracy works, sir.
