In this dispatch from the field, "Vanguard" correspondent Christof Putzel rides with state police officers in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, through some of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the area. To avoid becoming targets, state officers wear masks to shield their identities and stay heavily armed. A routine patrol quickly became a car chase through the streets at speeds of 70 to 80 miles per hour.

Watch the premiere of Vanguard's "Arming the Mexican Cartels" on Monday, October 31, at 9/8c.

Weeknights at 9:00/8:00c on Current TV

  • @1998disco72 Yes, but this video completely ignores the FACT that the us dept of justice is the cartels partner in crime while attacking our second amendment. The war on drugs is really a war against the lower classes of society and it completely against the philosophy of liberty and freedom. And you know that this "snafu" is the just the tip of the iceberg for the DOJ.

  • @1998disco72 actually that reduced 50% over the past years dont know the exact figures

but Mexico still needs to grow faster but its a challenge due to Americas debt and

well Europe's euro just being a big failure but im sure in the next decades to come im sure this country will get rid of its poverty soon as we have seen with Brazil and South Korea and China ect. and also its not just Mexicans that risk their lives on the border most of them are from lower countries south of Mexico :)

  • @daManonthehill I agree about this fast and furious but the cartels had weapons way before this snafu by the US government.

  • @Finestizpro Well it is. If Mexico was so wonderful then why are so many people paying their life savings and risking their lives to come to the US.

  • go team go

  • This guy is stupid... He should Also cover his face... He could get tortured if they find out what he does...

  • Juarez has one of the highest murder rates in the world.

For comparison... LA had 297 murders for 3.8 million people.

Juarez had 3,075 KNOWN murders...not including hundreds of unknown (in mass graves ect.) for a population of about 1 million.

During 2 days (Feb 17-19, 2011) 53 murders occured in Juarez.

To be a cop in that city you must accept death.

  • @evaiscoolio fast and furious.... look it up.

  • UMMM FAST AND FURIOUS YALL... us dept of justice caught and admits running guns to Mexico to arm cartels while they allow TONS of cocaine in and blame in on the 2nd amendment. WAKE UP

  • This will never end america loves drugs , especially white people . Its a fact .
