"Good luck," I said pulling away from the kiss that Nick,my husband of 2 years and I had just shared. Nick and I met at a concert when we were 18. He proposed on our 2 year anniversary and we were married 6 months later. Now we are both 22.

"Thanks babe," he replied giving me one last kiss one cheek before running on to the stage with his brothers. The Jonas Brothers were still going strong, just with older fans, most of whom are original fans. This was the last concert of the tour, and everything was running smoothly. There was a partly planned after the concert. Everyone was excited and looking forward to the party because all the former Disney stars were coming to celebrate the end to a great tour. And I was especially excited for this night because tonight was the night that I was going to tell Nick that he was going to be a father.

"This never gets old," Denise said, shaking me from my thoughts, as she walked up to stand beside me. Now we were both watching the performance from the side of the stage out of view.

"Never," I said shaking my head as a smile spread across my face.
"I guess this is the point where a normal mother-in-law would be either asking how the marriage is going or arguing with you," she said in attempt to make a conversation.

"Ya probably," I replied smiling. "But we are around each other too much for it to be one and if it were two it probably would have happened long before now."

"You're probably right. OK look," Denise said turning to face me her facial expression turning serious, "enough beating around the bush. Does Nick know?" she asked raising her eye brow.

We both burst out laughing at how serious the mood had gotten all of a sudden. I pointed at my abdomen and cocked my head as to ask if the thats what she was talking about. She didn't produce a vocal answer just nodded profusely. "No, not yet."

Denise let out a squeal then pulled me into a hug. She took my arms and pulled me away from her and looked from my face, to my stomach, then back at my face before pulling me back into a hug. "Oh sweetie this is wonderful. I'm going to be a grandmother," she said as she let go and started to jump up and down, clapping her hands.

"Ya. I was planning on telling Nick tonight. Wait," I said as my face fell. "How did you know?"

"Just a hunch," Denise told me as she shrugged her shoulders. I looked back out onto the stage. I didn't realize how long we took talking until I saw Nick, Joe, and Kevin slowly rising from the floor on elevated plat forms. They did this to end the show dramatically. Joe and Kevin had both become new fathers before we left for the tour. They decided that since their roles at home, this would be the last tour for a while, most likely ever. They made the decision that they wanted to go out with a bang so they had risers put in. They all tried to tell Denise and I that they were perfectly safe but we were both scared to death every night. Tonight was no different.

"Oh God, I can't watch this," we mumbled at the same time turning around and putting our heads in our hands. I peeked through my fingers to see them all at the top of the platforms and not rising any high so I took my hands away from my face. Denise and I watched proudly as they all performed, but I had a little bit more pride for Nick.

"Alright everybody," I heard Joe yell into the microphone "this is our last song for the night." I heard a collective grown from the audience as Hollywood began to play. They also decided that since it would probably be their last tour they would play an assortment of their songs including older ones.

I couldn't help but smile as I saw my husband up there doing what he loved, playing music. My smile fell as I saw Nick turn white. "Denise somethings wrong," I told her as I pointed to Nick. I saw him press the button to use the the system that was set up so that only the rest of the band and people with walkie talkies backstage could hear. I heard Nicks voice come across, "guys, I'm not feeling so hot."

"It's OK son. We getting you down," I heard Paul say as he ran passed us, probably towards the control panel for the platforms.

Denise and I looked at each other with worried expressions on our faces. I looked back out to Nick to see Kevin and Joe slowly going down but Nicks riser not moving. "Dad, get me down," I heard Nick say again.

I was already so scared for Nick that I was about to cry but what I heard next really got me. "Nick, you gotta hang in there, we're trying but yours seems to be stuck."

"Dad," was all I heard before a scream from the audience. Nick blacked out and started to fall backwards. But the 'safe' railings that they had installed held Nick for maybe five seconds before it gave out. The next thing I knew, a limp Nick was falling to the ground and there was nothing I could do.

"Nick!" I screamed running to his lifeless body laying on the cold black stage.
