Thank you for your thorough research and responding to my bentonite clay wash (lol). I just completed reading your book.( very informative) However, I wanted to know what is your rationale for the deep conditioning routine. I never had anyone instruct me to deep condition 15 min, then apply more conditioner, heat for 10 more min., then apply more conditioner and heat for 10 min more. I can't wait to try this mehtod though. I justed wanted to know the benefit of reapplying more conditioner .
after being natrual for alomost 2 yrs, Ive tried MANY shampoos, with and without sulfate, even diluted and I get the same result, DRY HARD HAIR. Using 1/3 ACV to 2/3 water works very well with my hair, and so does bentonite clay. My scalp no longer itches and my hair is very soft.
first i totally agree with you Dr. Akbari... if you use products that DO NOT have silicones in them then usually you could rinse your hair with water and your fingers alone and get SOME of the build up off...but if you can't remove SILICONES from your hair with Clay's then it doesn't really CLEAN, PLEASE LISTEN TO THE DR. SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE'S TALKING ABOUT:)~
everyone: do not listen to this lady. i am a real chemist, and i can tell u that bentonite clay scientifically does clarify/detox the hair and scalp if you are using most products that do not have silicones, etc.
lisa, where did you earn your degree?? please, understand basic principles of chemistry.
@DreadlockedBeauty- I agree and I use ACV as well in my locks but I think the key to balancing the drying property is to add moisture back into the hair.
I do not agree with most of your comments. I have used Rhassoul clay mixes for at least a year with wonderful results. Most clay washes/cleanses have been used by Eastern/African nations for thousands of years. My Indian neighbors' families have used these type of products for generations. Clay "washes" when properly mixed gently and naturally clean the hair and scalp very well. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH FOLKS. My granny used lye soap mixes with hair down to her bottom. No thoughts of ph.
@DreadlockedBeauty It cleans my hair as well. However it does dry mines out if I don't have the ph right with the water mix. My scalp loves it. I place some vinegar on a cotton ball and clean my scalp when I do braids. Works wonders.
