This is a Panasonic SDR-H80 video quality test.

Pros: Films great in sun, and fluorescent lighting. Zoom is remarkable. And the videos don't come in some funky format that isn't compatible with any programs. It's especially great with Pinnacle Studios video editing software. I have not tried it on Windows movie maker, and I do not own any other video editors like Camtasia, or sony vegas. 60GB HDD is useful, because on the highest video recording (XP) you can record upwards of 13 hours. Obviously the Batter that comes with the camera will run out of power about 6-8 times before you reach your limit.

cons: Low light isn't clear. It's hard to notice objects, and appears to blur at the most mundane objects that you would expect it to record with ease. Motion stabilizer isn't that great, it's only for verticle bumbs. Horizontal or normal hand shakiness it doesn't really take care of too much. The reason why you don't notice this in this video is because I filmed on a tri-pod.. (mainly when zoomed in far distances) You can't upload videos to your computer without removing the battery from the battery slot, and plugging in the power cord from the charger, to the camera. Microphone is good, but doesn't pick up all that you want. (opinions may vary) Also about the mic, when filming in windy days. (About a 3+ on the Beaufort scale. (8+ miles per hour.)) Glare if filming with sun in background, or near blackground. The "Quickstart" option doesn't really take effect when filming with HDD, because it has to sync with the drive. So make sure you have the camera on if you plan on doing spur of the moment filming.

All though I listed quite of a few things not so great about this camera, it is still a great camera, and unless you had a camera built, and designed specifically for you, there will always be flaws, and problems that you wish were changed. I hope that this helped you, and that you come back to my videos for learning/entertaining purposes.

I do not want any comments about the Halo background. I was playing with my friend Josh, so I was not talking to myself/camera. Yes, I was killed on the bridge on Narrows, but nobody is perfect on SWAT... Yes, when I went off the lift, I shot 2-3 times at an elite, and missed. Let's not forget that I had killed an elite before shooting at the second one. No, I do not have anything against elites. If you noticed, I was an elite that game as well. IF however, you have a problem with elites, then don't comment saying how much of a(n) (your choice of insult here) I am for being an elite. I do not care what you think about my gameplay.

If you have anything to ask, please comment the question, and I will get back to you, or reply to the comment as fast as I can. I do not check my videos daily, so don't expect a response quickly. (1-7 days, usually.)

Do not judge me. :)

Also, you will not get HD in the YT if uploaded using this camera. I have the HD symbol due to using Pinnacle Studio's. I will be uploading an HD video filmed with an HD camera on September 19th, and 20th. It will be uploaded by the 21st. If you would like to see the difference between Standard Defintion, and High Definiton from the same guy. I will set up the SD and HD without using video editing software to sharpen the picture quality. I will post which camera I am using in the video of the HD test. I will give many tests in one video, so be ready to see why one is better than another. Do not make the same mistake as me, and get the camera you are not happy with. Please do research. I got lucky, by breaking my Panasonic, getting credit for it, and then being able to put that towards my new camera. I learned a valuable lesson, and I hope by my mistakes, I can help others from making the same. Thanks, and sorry for making this short message a long, short message.

  • Are you used camera shoots in full HD (1920x1080)? Or only in 720 (the quality with which subistes this video)?

  • @rodrigocayoarg it wasn't filmed in hd, just ended up w/ 720 pixels in editing.

  • How did you upload it! I have the same camera and it won't upload to any file! I can't go to windows movie maker either!

  • @AirsoftLjl Hook it up through usb, computer, click on it's Hard Drive, find the files, copy (or cut) and paste wherever, and do whatever you want. Unless you want to deal with the convenient not so user friendly auto upload which always seems to mess something up. ;) Yessir

  • @AirsoftLjl And if you're talking about the camera's Youtube upload or whatever, I never tried it.

  • the first clip of the birds on the feeder, how did you get that focus on just the birds and seeder and blur out the background? because i also have this camcorder and I dont like it too much. I would prefer if i could get a focus? :)

  • @JoeFulford I was about 20 feet away or so I would say, so if you zoom in on a bird size object from 20 feet away, I'm sure it should look similar. Other than that, this camera's focus is limited. :(
