Sandra Zilles and her research team study machine-learning models that are similar to student-teacher interactions. In these types of models machines learn how to exploit the quality of well-chosen data rather than simply process large quantities of randomly chosen data. Zilles is a Canada Research Chair in Computational Learning Theory and a professor at the University of Regina.
