Fish the lower Klamath River in Northern California out the the Rivers West Lodge for fall Chinook. The lower Klamath is considered one of the prettiest stretches of river in CA and historically, the Klamath is one of California's best salmon fisheries.

Then, visit the northern Oregon coast near Tilamook for some instruction in digging clams from local expert Tim Barnett and Phil Pirone of Pro-Cure.

  • The bay they are in is Netarts. It's easy to get to just out of Tillamook, just look at any map.

Not sure why these guys would deliberately not say the name.

Netarts is a great bay to clam in, and is relatively free of invasive clams. The clams are extremely plentiful and the main digging area is easy to get over to at any tide below -0.5 with boots on, or any tide under +1 ft with waders. Just stay out of the channel, it drops off too deep to walk through, even with waders at -2 tide.
