Join me as I examine two German WW 2 items given to me over 20 years ago from a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces.

  • did you ever get that lamp to light?

  • @thefetusking I have yet to try. Thanks for watching!

  • I would be interested if you showed more WW2 items. Very cool stories. There's fewer and fewer WW2 vets each day. I had the honor to ride in a B-17 with a vet who served on a B-17. I believe he said he went on 32 B-17 missions. I don't think anyone could have imagined some of these B17's outliving those who flew them.

  • @taofledermaus It was hard enough to make the 25 missions. those men had incredible courage flying the daylight raids into Germany without fighter escort. Somebody has posted the original War Department film "Memphis Belle" (not the Hollywood production) here on Youtube. There is a really good library of old WW II documentaries to be found in the education movie section (in case you havn't discovered them yet).

  • Very cool!

  • @MrColt45acp The original Memphis Belle is a classic, and real. It was insane to think that War Correspondants and film makers would go on those dangerous missions with the crews but they did. One website I've watched WW2 airplane videos for years before Youtube was conceived is Zeno's Warbirds. Most videos are War Dept. reels and include many 'how to fly" videos for flying nearly every American aircraft. It's quite a collection- stuff you won't even find on YT.

  • this was great i really like the ww2 items i would like if you could get you hands on a luger and even more amazing if an american .45 cal luger (as only 2 were ever made) or even the original version before being modified by Borchardt luger i cant remember the name of the original but if you cant i would understand as they are very rare

  • That was a wonderful story, I thank you for sharing it. Thumbs Up
