I guess that he doesn't believe that fathers are capable of raising their children.Many children were deprived the opportunity to have time with fathers who want to have an integral part of their children's lives. Children not only need financial support from both parents, they need time with both parents. Children have a constitutional right to have access to both parents, but the states cannot concede that right in lieu of the money it makes collecting CS money from federal matching funds.

Jim Martin is the former chair of the Georgia House Judiciary that WOULD NOT HAVE A HEARING ON THE JOINT CUSTODY BILL THAT HAD ALREADY PASSED THE SENATE 50 TO 4. That joint custody bill would allow both parents of a divorce to have joint custody. It was killed by Jim Martin.

Some of the comments posted here disgust me! I think Jim will be a far more responsive Senator than Saxby has been. Jim won't be answering to special interests or the Religious Right when he casts his votes in the Senate; he'll be representing the REAL people of Georgia.
