Poems and commentary delivered to commemorate the 1980 Korea Democracy Movement demonstrations and subsequent brutal attacks by national troops commanded by soon-to-be dictator Chun Doo Hwan.
Charles was invited by the Gwangju International Center, and read to a very diverse audience including native speakers of English and international students of a dozen different, mostly Asian, countries. This was in most respects the most enthusiastic reception from any audience of the Korea Reading Series.
