@slmacph That's funny. I'm not familiar with those songs. I'll have to search them after this. Yeah, a lot of people people thought they would be made fun of for liking them and probably were. They had that goody four shoes image and all of that. I never had any of their albums probably for that same reason, but I always liked them. I watch them on YouTube a lot. It's hard to believe you hadn't discovered them until that late in their career. You must have been loving you some cartoons.

Luck you! All I can remember when I was riding around with my folks was my father singing corny old songs from the 1940's and 1950's. You know, songs like "Mares Eat Oats" and "The Elephant and the Bee". I didn't discover The Carpenters until, like, the late 1970's. When my brother learned I liked their music (and especially Karen Carpenter herself), he would forever tease me about it.

@slmacph Really? I am the same age as you and I can remember when "We've only just begun" and "Close to you" came out in '70. They were all over the radio. I used to hear it in the car when my parents drove us around and knowing the name Carpenters and that they were like the biggest thing. It was on AM radio.

@YoVaginaStinks1 Oh, don't be such a dickhead. Well...TRY not to. Admit it-The Carpenters gave more to the world than you ever will, and you aren't even worthy to lick Richard's ass. :O) I'll admit, it WAS unfair of your mother to make you smell her snatch, but there's no reason to take that out on nice people like The Carpenters. :O))
her voice gives me chills it is so beautiful.

Small stage, big sound, huge talent.
36 years later we're still looking at these old vids in awe, wondering and aching at what could have been . . . . . . .
