i just started my dreads, only have two so far, but i dont have wax. i bought a jar of dreadlock gel, is it possible to use gel instead of wax? and how often should i apply the gel, once, twice per week?

the knotty boy collection un knots my hair.. the gel especially dont hold anything.. been trying with my dreads for a few years now & still have straight hair :(

I bought this gel like 3 weeks ago. I like how it makes the loc more uniform and a little more thighter than before. this is the only retail stuff I use on my locs. love the smell and the results.

you should check it out they have memories that will answer any dread question you have and if they dont you can make a post and it will be answer by many veteran dread heads that want to help out adn not try to sell stuff and make people think they need products and spend money,but they look nice i love the length cant wait til mine grow out more started them when my hair was really short

the bar soap is fine but you def dont need to but that gel in your hair it really is not good that stuff will forever be on the inside of your dread all of knottyboy stuff is basically a rip off and make people think they need it to make money and for bumps palmroll really hard in the shower but the gel leave alot of residue and build up and your dreads will start to smell when theyr wet mine will be 2 years in aug. but theres a amazing dread community on livejournal called get up dread up
