Kaossilator Pad

Kaossilator is awesome, no midi out is not. But it is possible to recreate it's features on it's big brother the Kaoss pad. In this video I'm using the program Bidule to translate the midi messages to notes and then routing them into Reason. The possibilities be endless.

I see that you use the slider to change the key (very cool), but how do you know what key it's actually in?

I put a piece of masking tape on there and marked off the intervals. ghetto, but it works.

Interesting, do you think other tools could be used instead of Bidule to translate the midi messages?

sure, you could use reaktor or max/msp or pd. I didn't really find any strictly midi message translation programs that would do the trick. I used bidule because it's free (for now) and has less of a learning curve than the alternatives.

How are you actually recording what you have done? Is it through the usb?

Any chance you could share the bidule program? I have a kaossilator and a mini KP and have been trying to make bidule to this for a Korg KP2 for the keyboard player in my band, to no avail.
