Peg was a fantastic musician as well as singer. Any popular female singer better? Not for me she was the best. Check out the stuff she did with husband Dave Barbour a great and underrated guitarist

One Norwegian-American entertainer honouring another. Lykke til, Reese!

I think this was her greatest hit. I still get chills these many years after having heard it for the first time. It just soars out there and runs away from itself. You have to go with it.

This arrangement was Peggy's idea. The song was a gentle, sappy waltz from a show, and the record execs at Capitol were horrified at this zippy, percussion-heavy idea, sure it would not sell. She knew her contract with them was soon gonna be up, so she jumped over to Decca, and made this HUGE HIT!!!

@adam28xx Gordon Jenkins at his best!

Gorgeous song, wicked high-jazz arrangement with the bossa nova bongos. Essential Peggy Lee.

To me this is her signature song....my favorite version of a great song.
Reese Whitherspoon has just aquired the rights to Peggy Lee story

@MSJULIEish Really? Hmm...I don't know if I can imagine her in that role, but she's a good actress, so maybe if she stars in it, she'll surprise some people.
