This was the greatest race in the modern era I beleive. Awesome wrecks, awesome finish, awesome track, just everything about it was great. I really want to see the Sprint Cup Series to go back. They need this track. Badly.

@SaintBEEP rockingham was lost because of lack of fundihg to run the race

I really wish they would have kept this track on for 1 race a year. I understand wanting less races in South Carolina, so why not take away one of Darlingtons dates and one of Rockinghams dates ( they both had 2 races on the schedule and Darlington only races once now anyway) woulda solved the issue >_>

@vettedude418 Well, we need to get the rock back and N. Wilksborough back. So what if that makes 3 tracks from N.C., we need them back, especially N. Wilksborough, that's a good short track.

Rockingham was actually taken away because it's in North Carolina, a state which at the time had 3 Racetracks on teh schedule. The two other options were Charlotte and Darlington. So unfortunetely it had to be done. NASCAR said they needed to branch out and having three races in North carolina alone wasn't helping.

I agree. The track just was not located in a good enough place for this time.

@MIBFreakPack It was located in an area in which not many fans had places to stay when they went to the track and the track didnt have big grandstands like many tracks do today
