After recovering from a bout of swine fever plague virus,it was about time I did something productive in the workshop..so a 3mm mild steel broadhead with a single bevel and paracord wrapping my mini survivor so battoning wasn't so painful..for a paracord wrapping demo see devildwarfblades I think and for someone making a proper job of a broadhead rush to wilderness outfitters and see the legend that is DC...

  • I have a blackhawk xsf-1 with this exact same blade geometry, its called a Besh wedge, (Brent Beshara), i can tell you it performs QUITE well for pericing.

  • @Wyndstarthedruid thanks there,,,as mentioned before ..these seriously killed a gammon,,they could be a bit narrower where they join the shaft but they do work..all the best!

  • @bassfuryvi heck, id leave it just hte way it is, makes them more robust if you were to miss and hit a rock!, I think in a bigger version. witht this same stock thickness. It would work AWESOMELY as a big game spear. but for broadhead maybe a bit smaller, I watch all your videos, and out of all of the knife guys or outdoorsmen. you usually inspire me the most to mod out my gear and get in the shop and start grindin. great stuff man!, keep it up. much love from the states.

  • @Wyndstarthedruid thanks for the tip..I'll keep them big!! and thanks for your thoughts on me..it means a lot!

  • Over 5000 views,,thanks for watching,, all credit to Dave Canterbury for inspiring me to make some arrow heads,,crude and big but still effective..

  • WHOA my first 1000 viewed vid......thanks for all who have watched this upload...regards Scott.... Wessex Blades

  • Good looking hunting point. I like the look and shape of it but have no experience in hunting. So my question is, is 3mm too thick for an arrow head. The ones I have seen commercially are much thinner. 3mm would be far more robust though.

  • Thankyou for your comment..regarding the 3mm thickness..if you notice the opposing sides are bevelled about 30 degrees so the front tip have a very fine point, which could be filed even more fine. With both my Lil Banshee compound and poplar bow(38 lb@28") I got evil penetration on a gammon..when you consider the head is buried and the arrow shaft could be 10-15 mm anyway the 3mm thickness of the head isn't too critical,Dave C's method of bevelling adds a slicing action,,it's a blade on an arrow..

  • @OutdoorsmanByDesign Thankyou..I have this one and another in my 30 piece kit, they are a bit heavy but still usable!

  • Now that looks like one sharp broadhead, my fellow outdoorsman. Nice technique.
