Just to clear things up, David A Stewart from the Eurythmics, born 9th Sept 1952 did not do this song, it was Dave Stewart born 30 December 1950, check out Wikipedia.

Just to add to the confusion, Johny in the video is played by Thomas Dolby (real name Thomas Robertson) another 80's synth pop star.
