This was basically a song based on the mistreatment of Muslim women In England and around the world. On the train home from work one day I met an old friend from school, she was a Muslim lass. We started to talk and things were going well. At the next stop a group of male Muslims got on the train and stood in the same doorway we were, when she continued to talk to me one of them said something in their native language. She looked upset and said to me "sorry I have to go" she walked down the train to the other end followed by the group of males. She hadn't actually gone anywhere; she still got off at the same stop as me 20 minutes later. Now either she was just repulsed by me, which is fair enough or, the story I seem to believe is that the group of males told her to stop talking to me. Later that week I read of a girl who had married a "none" Muslim in secret in the north of England. She was flown to Pakistan in secret by her family and her body turned up 4 weeks later. The suspected reason she was killed was an "honour killing".

Its full of errors, but this is youtube after all.

LYRICS

We once met on a very bright day
We once met on a very fine day
I was watching all the rain til you fell my way
Watching all the rain til you fell my way

We once met on a very fine day
We once met on a very nice day
Saw you on the train wouldnt get out of your way
saw you on the train said "why dont you stay"

Your skin so dark and mine so pale
Your skin so dark and mine so pale
We could be the talk of the papers next day
but the world were told dont want it that way

We once met on a very bright day
we once met on a very fine day
youre supposed to be married by the end of may
but they wanted you to marry a 40 year old knave

Your mother said dear "he's a big mistake, itll kill your father and his heart will break" she said " he didnt mind cos your keeping mine, god meant for me to have a happy old time, all of this so far has been very unkind, youre listening just to god why dont you use your own mind, after all were all caught in time when a little bit of love just might save my life."
