@ MattCFarlBMWZ3 :
usually there are 3 "steps" at the front and 2 at the rear door. "stop steps", where
the door pauses while getting out of the car. is there not enough space to get out
by "pausing the door in one of the steps", it might happen (as shown in the
video), that the door slap at your shin/lower leg.
Another example: it could be, that the door (which one is not "in the step")
swing open against another car ...
