In 1986, the year that America celebrated the centennial of Lady Liberty, New York Governor Mario Cuomo recalls how immigrants built America through labor...and deftly pivots to tout his accomplishments in helping to create jobs and opportunity for the people of New York. For most of his career, Cuomo was a brilliant political strategist, and orator, and this spot is both moving and effective. Cuomo ultimately received more than twice as many votes for Governor than his 1986 opponent, Andrew O'Rourke (R).
