How are you feeling today? Do you feel tired but just can't find the right tool to help you fall asleep? Perhaps you're searching for the cure to insomnia? Maybe you just want one big knockout pill, hmmm? Well, you won't find any such thing here. War of the Monsters is (mostly) fun as hell and it'll keep you awake for a long time once you learn not to get killed every five seconds. If you have a sleeping disorder, I'm afraid you'll have to keep looking for a cure. Actually, I sometimes think I have a sleeping disorder... I might wanna get checked.

This game was developed by Incognito and this GAME was probably sent into hiding because it's almost criminal that more people don't know about it. You ever played "King of the Monsters" folks? Imagine that it's 3D, keeps all the B-Movie charm (complete with a giant Japanese super robot, King Kong impersonator, Godzilla-esque monster, etc.), has several monsters and obstructions on the field, skyscrappers you can climb, and loads of destruction that can make one as giddy as a schoolgirl. Are you excited yet? How about monsters having the ability to pull off several special techniques and smack people in the face with tanks? Yes, it's as fun as it sounds. This game also isn't exactly a pushover. You'll have to work pretty hard to unlock some of the game's bonus content. While the fighting is relatively basic and could use some fine-tuning in spots, you look at a game like this and think "Where the heck is the sequel?"

This video shows a small demonstration of the Adventure Mode and multi-monster battling. This game is noted for being similar to "Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee". Enjoy.

Oh, and the camera getting dilapidated after defeating Congar isn't my fault.

  • I remember playing this so frequently when I was younger. I adore this game ! I love the use of the playing fields.

  • Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee was decent, but War of the Monsters actually does it better. The controls are fluid and everything is destructible thanks to the Twisted Metal: Black engine.

  • one of the best games on the PS2, I wish they would make a sequel to this game on PS3

  • @thecommentmaster1 hey retard this game was when there were no blood and awesome details. stuff like that really didnt come until the ps3.

  • i.havnt played this.since i was in second grade!!!!!! thank god i found it with my ps2!!! this game is so damn epic. the lizzard guy was me all the time. i forgot his name though

  • use to play this when i was a kid omg so fun bak then and ultra V was my guy@

  • I still play and re-play this game, I never get bored of it, it is so much fun. The mighty Congar is my favorite, I really like the second costume, looks like a yeti. It makes me feel so good when I stomp my friend in War of the Monsters after he owns me on Smackdown vs Raw. I wish they released this for the next gen consoles, I would love a sequel, but the game is just so much fun that I wouldn't mind re-playing it for the next gen, online battles would be great.

  • Played this game when i was little... it was a long time ago :)

  • Anyone else just watch a twisted metal trailer?

  • this game was so freaking awesome

  • @poopmaster13 No arguments there.

  • @alvieao2 Gonna have to disagree on that one. Destroy All Monsters had plenty of destruction going on, the graphics were better, and besides that....dude, it's Godzilla. And if you really want to go that route, then Godzilla Unleashed (on Wii) was better than both of them, by virtue of the fact that it had a lot more stuff, AND the environments were pretty much entirely destructible. War of the Monsters is a good game. But Godzilla is king.
