  • "improving fuel efficiency while VIRTUALLY decreasing emissions"

    nice job slipping that in.

  • Virtually???? Anyway, bmw will be the best for ever, even if you bought one that was not very good, or had some problems, it's only because they were made in US or something close to it, german made bmws are awesome...i don't wanna bother anybody, but that's the truth, all over europe we have bmw made in germany, n they r great...

  • @canadianjob easy with that german made cars bullsh*t...i own a 95 thousand dollar w140 S500 when was brand new that is nothing but trouble and a money pit ..The w220 00-03 rust like crazy, had to do another paint coat to fix the problem. Bushing and suspension nightmares. I have owned them all, you get a bmw in the states and a GM car and you will see which one lasts longer, especially the north american winters. Friends 528i and 745i both trannys hard shift-quality my ass.in the end-Toyota wins

  • inreliable, expensive and short of life.

  • these fantastic cars & the likes are truly worth every penny one pays, period. Some 'KIT' planes & helis, which quality arent anywhere near these road vehicle arent at all suppose to carry hefty pricetag equalling or more than that of the very high-end model of any such marque,be they a Mercedes or a BMW

  • @plastbestikk Which is why the third generation Valvetronic was just added to the new M5.

  • @Turbotrips 6 stroke? Water injection, which flashes to steam, for better thermal efficiency.

  • @ramcrazy360 Yes that is a benefit to the low lift, but that is not the reason for the low lift.

The reduced lift (and commensurate duration) is how load control is achieved. The increased air velocity at part load leads to much smaller droplet size formation. Nissan quotes-at 2mm valve lift, 9 micrometers, [diameter] versus a conventional throttled engine at 157 micrometer. The surface area:volume is just so much better. Better heat flow into the liquid fuel, better knock resistance, etc.

  • @canadianjob

Actualy, Honda had the best NA hp per liter for 15 years, and the best hp/L bmw which is

333hp--3.0L--111hp/L is still even with with the 3rd best Honda,

200hp--1.8L--111hp/L Integra Type R, below the

185hp--1.6L--115hp/L Civic Type R, and the

    247hp--2.0L--123hp/L S2000.

Ferrari just stole that record with the 2010 458 Italia, with

    562hp--4.5L--125hp/L...

  • this system is inreliable.

  • @Turbotrips 2 stroke?

  • @JamesThWilliams so true. maybe he meant camshaft dont fully control intake... that makes more sense.
