One of the most beloved musical compositions of the 20th Century, "Moon River" was written in 1961 with music by Henry Mancini and lyrics by Johnny Mercer for the motion picture "Breakfast At Tiffany's" starring Audrey Hepburn. Although Hepburn actually sang the song in the film, Mancini's recording presented here was the one that was released to the public. "Moon River" went to #11 on the pop charts during November of 1961 ultimately winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song from a motion picture.
