Photos of our trip across America. Here's some shots from the fifth leg of the trip, Vegas/Nevada.
I decided to take a scenic flight over the Grand Canyon/Hoover Dam, and called a company I found in a guidebook. They picked me up at the NYNY in a van, drove myself and other people from hotels across the strip, and took us on a 40 minute drive to the Boulder City airport. From there we were checked in, weighed, given boarding passes and bussed to the plane around the corner from the airport main building. Then we were tossed on board for an hour and fifteen minute flight, in which we didn't speak but listened to an audio tour as we flew. Upon landing, we were given enough time to shop, issued bus passes and driven back to our hotels.
It was efficient, if not impersonal.
But hey, I got to see the world's biggest hole in the ground!
As you can see from one of the driving photos, it was so windy the wind was creating mini tornadoes in the dust. The flight was very bumpy.
We flew on a Twin Sea Otter.
