spot on... laughing with others and becoming a joke are two different things... now how many indians would feel offended by the following lines-

desh ki ladai mein gandhi aage dauda tha, ek haath mein tel ki botal dusre haath mein L**da tha

hits hard?

now imagine this being a popular phrase by people from other countries or races.

Now all indians would be angry bt when ur racially disrespectful towards ur own kind & make fun of history, its still racism ...in this case, racist against punjabis

Those are very respectful words, but what about the justice. Still its pretty awful the way Sikhs are treated still, as second class citizens. No justice for 84 incidents both in Amritsar & Dheli. Including the way Sikhs were treated in the past.Other examples, but I do respect those who do respect and not discriminate. Discriminate ex:

“The Sikhs are lawless people and a menace to the law abiding Hindus…The Government should take strict measures against them.” (Jawaharlal Nehru)

Pashtoon always prefer a brave & one-word enemy over coward friend. this is why the Sikhs are respected in pashtoon folklore for not just bravery but also for their one-word friendship &/or one-word enemy (no hidden motives)

The Sikhs have the best record for ruling pashtoon lands for nearly13 years,the next record is 10 years by USA(& is already tired) .But comparing the strength of USA & those Sikhs,they if had such weapons, economy & coalitions would have sustained for 45 to 50 years easily.

I think this strain will not go. However, the Sardars (and marvellous people they are - what strength of character and what uprightness) that I have had the good fortune of being friends with took it in their stride. They are a credit to our country and our people.

Im not sikh but Im punjabi,& i still feel angry when people make sardar jokes.If i don't stand up for the sikh's sacrifice just as much as sri subhash chandra bose's sacrifice, id be discriminating & putting out the message that this is acceptable
