the old stuff was often better built than the newer stuff. i do a mix of old and new. i like the style of the older stereo equipment be it Marantz, Pioneer, Yamaha and my fave B&O. i have a BeoCenter 7700 with new Orb speakers connected to my iMac and a BeoMaster 4400 with Denon bookshelf's and a Yamaha sub which i use to pump tunes from my iPod and iPad. the B&O 4400 with speakers i picked up on eBay for under$350.00 including shipping! it's awesome.
