The first time I heard this track it frightened me. The rhythm section of Haslip and Kennedy are aggressive, driving and relentless. They just wont let up. Even Mintzer's bass clarinet tone is somewhat darker than usual. Thankfully, Ferrante's solo provides a brief relief, but even that mutates into something menacing.

Technically it's brilliant, and technically it's from a Bob Mintzer album.
