Acoustic cheapie with a unique history. Appears to be a Martin commissioned laminate guitar made overseas. Marlboro cigarettes had a promotion where if you sent them the proof of purchasing 460 packs of ciggies and $50, they'd send you one of these.
marlboro martin D28 guitars are solid select (yes, select) sitka spruce top & two-piece back & sides... the neck completely different - wide and has always reminded me of that of an epiphone. the bridgeplate is solid rosewood, and i cant remember if the fingerboard is solid, but is rosewood also. the real d28 has solid ebony for its fingerboard & bridgeplate.
my marlboro sounds 100% better if you replace the plastic nut and saddle with Tusq brands, the sustain improved by 10fold!
