Same here, different pres for different applications!, but yours nuts if you think it won't add warmth to any signal path, maybe you can't hear it?, you'll be surprised how many engineers have bad hearing.
i'm guessing you're autistic. there is no tube is better or solid state is better. i have an adl 600 which i always use on acoustic guitars. i have a pacifica which i always use for vocals. guess what? ones solid state ones tube. the ADL is NOT warm sounding for a tube pre. but its great. if you like crystal clear recording thats great. to each his own. i like both on different applications. although i really dont think you know anything about recording
Thats a very new way of thinking, just since the digital age have people begun to think this way. what you say is true about a mic pre either accurately capturing frequency or not but harmonic overtones is what gives instruments their depth and differences, which is why a violin sounds so deep and warm, strings have a lot of overtones. A tube just gives you more overtones, and "warmth" and thats why people like it so much I think.

I hate all this 'warm tube sound' bullshit. Either a mic/interface is accurately capturing all the frequencies it should be or it isnt. I would rather have a 'cold' digital interface that recorded what I was playing with sonic accuracy, than tubes colouring my sound.
