This video documents the inaugural 'Light Up' of the "Light Totem" art installation to celebrate Indiana University's Art Museum's 25th Anniversary.
"Light Totem" is an installation art piece created by Rob Shakespeare to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Indiana University's Art Museum which was designed by I.M. Pei.
The art piece is comprised of three elements called Sky (3 large searchlights pointed into the night sky that converge to create a pyramid that mimics the angles of the building),Tower/Wall (an outdoor tower that colorfully illuminates the front of the building), and Line (a 40 foot line of light in the atrium of the building)
Tower contains 51 ColorKinetics ColorBlast12 and the interior, and Line is 40 feet of ColorKinetics iColorAccent. I programmed the 'light shows' using the ColorKinetics Software and everything is played back using ColorKinetics iPlayer3.
The programming is done using ColorKinetics software and was completed by sean Smallman. (www.seansmallman.com)

I live near it, and I was referring to the spot of light on the clouds as "the Eye of Sauron" (from "The Return of the King") before I found out what it was.
