I came across this great song while sorting thru my 45's. Joni James had a number 1 hit with this song in 1952 and Patti Page a number 4 hit in 1953 (the flip side of Conquest). Also recorded by Margaret Whiting in 1953. The Duprees had a nice version in 1963. This Kalin Twins "rocked" it up quite a bit on this recording, as the song is usually sung very slow. I couldn't find any information about this Kalin Twins version, and it never charted. The song has a nice ending.

  • I guess that they had their big Hit record with WHEN, not on this particular record label I take it - did they have any follow up hit records to WHEN?

  • @circmgr i agree

  • Good record, but NO ONE can sing it like Joni James

  • Don't know why this record didn't chart into the top 10. It's pretty good! Thanks for sharing this!

  • Ahh, I see that this song is the b-side to their 45 "The Meaning Of The Blues"

  • You must have found this song on a Vocalion label Kalin Twins lp. According to a discography website it was recorded Aug. 18, 1959.

  • Nice and new to me. Thanks posting
