@polymath7 About TYNER: I think no one compares to him. Honestly, don´t know, don´t care bout virtuosity (as I´d never bothered about Yngwy Maalmsteen, having Hendrix or Steve Howe). I´m talking bout what matters in music: Fun, Depth, Feeling, Variety, Beauty, Healing power,... and -with that in mind- I think I never ever heard a piano soloist as unbelievably good as this bloody monster is.
@pimphofoo Indeed. Not the virtuoso Tatum was, but no one really rivals the depth and colorful richness of his sound. His solos on a "My Favorite Things" and Softly as Morning Sunrise" are indispensable.
