The tender, gentle treatment my Julie London in this rendition is far more poignant than the original by Doris Day. Julie's tone is wistful, almost to the point of resignation that the word "when" might by supplanted by "if"; Doris' on the other hand, is far more optomistic and determined. No one could carry a torch song like Julie London!
