Right wing loons- yes they are. Do you need the names of more "right-wing loons" ? Benzion Netanyahu, Menachim Begin, Itzak Shamir, Avigdor Lieberman, Daniel Greenfield ( read his articles in the numerous right-wing blogs in the USA), the people behind "Jewish Task Force", "Jewish Defense League", the "Hilltop Youths".
You see, is has become more and more difficult to find someone in/from Israel who plays an active role in that conflict who is NOT RIGHT-WING MADNESS.
@mirotrash You say that the settlements secure Israel against attacks? How? Are they positions of heavy artillery? Are they launching sites of "Anti - Arab- Missiles"?
No, they are towns, villages, roads, fields, olive and fruit groves full of women and children that do not give any protection to Israel. They NEED protection themselves and that means they are safeguards against any Israeli retreat from the Westbank, no matter whether they are legal or not.
@mirotrash You are not allowed to take your neighbour's land, not even when he attacked you and was defeated. We call that INTERNATIONAL LAW . It is not just the "evil and antisemitic UN" who says so, it is just one of the basics of relation between nations after 1945 to make the world a better place and to demotivate states from becoming aggressive. What if Israel had lost? Would you then accept that the Arabs got their land "back" as they had been the victors then??
@Jeansschwimmer "Read their political agenda: no peace talks, annex the Westbank, "relocation" of the Arabs...."
of course they are right wing loons !!! but they came after almost 20 years of central left rule , people are FED UP and they respond with their guts instead of their minds.
this is my last response , I am neither your teacher nor your parents and can not (should not) show you that there is a better way then simply buying into every lie out there.
yes I would , my parents love their birthplace (as all people do) but they were 2nd class citizens (during the good times). my own great grandfather on my mothers side was murdered in a riot simply because he was a Jew , it happened before WW2 started , before the Nazis , allover the Arab world. you seem to be unable to understand the place of Jews in Arab culture and mentality.
@Jeansschwimmer "They are a violation of international law- they are aggression ...."
wrong on both accounts. our Arab neighbors attacked us and lost , 3 times 48 - 67 - 73 ,each time loosing more ground. they didnt have to attack us - they chose to .
as for the settlements - if they didnt exist (buffer) we would have perished long ago , and our Arab neighbors would have showed no mercy , just open the TV to see the "mercy" amongst them.
@mirotrash I know: The catch is that such a peace agreement can only be made - according to the Israelis- between them and an Arab state, not between them and Arab individuals. And as long Israel denies the Arabs the chance to built their own state, those peace talks that are necessary to create that state, are impossible.
You call this a "catch 22" trap. Whatever you try is impossible and archcynic Netanyahu can cary on blaming the Arabs.
@mirotrash Whoever said that Israel does not want to govern over the Arabs for all time has had enough time for a real retreat from that land. But that has never happened.
I beain to understand what Netanyahu really meant when he said that too. He wants the Arabs to leave or to be "relocated" to Jordan. Just by chance I came across that name "Danny Danon" and found his page "Worldlikud".
Read their political agenda: no peace talks, annex the Westbank, "relocation" of the Arabs.
it is. just open an Arabic newspaper or TV and you will see for yourself that there is a consensus in the Arab world (since before 1948) not to allow the "Jewish state" to exist.
@Jeansschwimmer "a second (Arab) state in the Westbank ... NO, no, never! ..."
never happened - nearly all Israeli past Gov agreed to a palastinian state as part of a peace agreement , the current gov is right wing but not immortal , it got elected because the people got fed up with the PA double talk.
