Watch this incredible video of an electric car that can do 0 to 60 in only 3 seconds, and has a top speed in excess of 112 miles per hour, as it beats both a Ferrari 360 Modena, and a Porche Carrera GT.

  • How much does that car cost?

  • Thus far it is only a prototype and is not for sale, but Wrightspeed has suggested that a retail vehicle would compete with mid to high range BMW, Benz and Porsche.

  • Rollercoaster500 -- that comment was not directed at you , but rather at the 4 other crap comments I have to delete every day to keep this conversation on topic -- sorry if any misunderstanding.

  • isn't that an ariel atom?

  • yes the structure of the car chasis is that of the ARIEL ATOM ... but it has been fitted with electric motors and is the WRIGHTSPEED X1 concept car .... some of you fucking know-it-alls really ought to do your homework before you post your worthless fucking drivel here -- If you are not going to contribute in a positive manner than kindly GO FUCK YOURSELF!!

  • you guy are right about the weight of the electric car, but it seems to have 150% more acceleration than the other cars which is absolutely insanely more.

  • This is not rocket science guys (although some might argue that the Wrightspeed X1 is almost a rocket ...)

It boils down to pure physics - an electric motor's power transfer is CONSTANT, where as the acceleration and power transfer resulting with a gasoline motor and clutched trasmission has alot more variables and is not constant at all.

Even with the car weights identical, I'm afraid the Wrightspeed X1 would still wipe the track with the other two cars.

  • 120 mph is plenty fast enough to kill yourself in. Its also plenty fast enough for hill climb, short circuit racing, racing your mates along the great ocean road in victoria or pretty much all fun driving applications apart from big tracks or highway work. Not to worry though...it really is only a matter of time before the battery technology is up to scratch enough to race this sort of idea in every circumstance.

  • Wrightspeed X1

electric or not? see it in google ;)

  • 0 - 60mph in 3.07 seconds means nothing when it cant go much over 120mph total. It serves one purpose.

  • then why is it powered by electricity? BECAUSE ITS A FUCKING ELECTRIC CAR xD

not sure what you meant by your statement, but it is an ariel body with a powerful electric motor so in theory it is... an electric car =/

  • But it sounds like a plane...

  • I like the new generation

  • ITS NOT A FUCKING ELECTRIC CAR

  • Boy that Ferrari sounded good going through the gears. Was there an electric car there, too?

  • why the roll-start against Porsche? lol

  • that's unreal
