Likely you have a single horn, not a double horn.

Geez you guys. This is very simple and basic instruction that your average beginner, yes I said beginner, should easily understand. As a long term horn player, I can say that learning intonation is one of the easier aspects of the horn to learn and is the one aspect most slighted. I can generally quickly estimate how advanced a horn player is by listening to his intonation.

My word, the title like it says is "How to play a french horn", with an emphasis on the slides. What does it matter how she spends her time. She just wants to be helpful in the education of the french horn. Actually friend, this is all helpful for a beginner (a beginner can be any age) all these videos are stepping stones for the beginner. Once the play can master his/her embouchure (being that im a brass player) all these steps are great. We may not know why expertvillage posted these videos.

Yes, but as a certified public school music educator, I can assure you that NO BEGINNER under tha age of 12 cares about any of these details. This is material that might be appropriate for a 2nd or 3rd year student....definitely not a beginner. Any teacher spending time exclusively talking about this in classes and not doing basics is an incompetent one.

The title says "How to Play French Horn" so I'm pretty sure it's geared towards beginners.

I can't decide if this woman meant for this to be for a 4th grader or a college student. Sounds like a documentary for four-year olds watching Mister Rogers - the only problem being that no four-year old will be playing the horn anytime soon. This person needs to find another way to spend her time.
